Described as both one of the best engineers and architects of the twentieth
century, Rice dedicated his life to championing brave innovation. The film will be
screened throughout the day during Engineers Week in the VISUAL foyer.
This season, VISUAL have worked with Engineers Ireland STEPS programme to
devise our primary schools workshops on creativity and engineering.
With the aim of inspiring the next generation of engineers, the Engineers Ireland
STEPS programme encourages young people, teachers and parents to explore
the world of engineering and to consider engineering as a career choice. Thanks
to committed volunteers from the engineering industry, the STEPS programme
reached 80,000 young people nationwide in 2017. STEPS is a strategic funded
partner of Science Foundation Ireland and is supported by the Department of
Education and Skills and a number of major engineering employers. STEPS is the
only national outreach programme in Ireland dedicated to engineering.
