Family Art Workshop Family Art Workshop
Following on from the success of last season\'s family days, VISUAL will continue its Family Art Workshops in the gallery this season welcoming parents and grandparents to come with their children and grandchildren and get creative. Facilitated by artists and based in the galleries, these family fun days are suitable for children up to the age of 12 years old.
Patrons should note that this is a family workshop and parents/guardians should remain with their children throughout.

ARTIST TALK EILEEN MacDONAGH discusses LITHOSPHERE
Eileen MacDonagh discusses LithoSphere, encompassing new and older work. This large scale exhibition disurveys the artist\'s career to date. The discuassion will specifically focus on the work exhibited in the galleries at VISUAL.

ARTIST TALK Eileen Mac Donagh: Sculpture in the landscape
Eileen MacDonagh has worked in large scale sculpture for over 20 years through the mediums of wood, stone, metal and most recently in polystyrene and paper-pulp. Choosing to work in monumental scale often rules out gallery exhibitions and so the work must be situated outside. In this talk, MacDonagh discusses the nature of working in the large scale and specifically the considerartions of making work which will be situated in exterior environments.
Sculpture in the Landscape refers to site-specific commissions; self initiated constructions; sculpture parks or works moved to exterior locations for exhibition. In addition, the term landscape can be interpreted as Rural or Urban environments.

PLAN IRELAND 75TH ANNIVERSARY PHOTO EXHIBITION LAUNCH
Plan Ireland will be oficially launching their 75th Anniversary Photo Exhibition on 9th February.
Taken from a variety of projects in countries where Plan operates, the photographs reflect the diversity and positivity of Plans work with children in fifty countries in the developing world. From musicians in Haiti to smiling schoolgirls in Myanmar and traditional dancers in Ghana, the photographs offer an insight into the positive impact that Plan has on the lives of some of the poorest children in the world, thanks to its child sponsorship programme.
