Between Your Love And Mine (A Requiem by Leonard Cohen)

Premiered at VISUAL in 2017, in the presence of President Michael D Higgins, Between Your Love And Mine is a requiem written by Leonard Cohen in memory of young people from the Carlow area who died by suicide.

Using only the songs and words of Leonard Cohen, and with the singer’s full cooperation, John MacKenna has devised a piece of theatre which features a broad range of Cohen’s work, both sung and spoken - excerpts from Cohen’s Book of Mercy, a late and unpublished poem, and songs from across the singer’s career - to produce a requiem that remembers young friends and those who mourn them.
