County Carlow Environmental Network (CCEN) are delighted to announce their first Environmental Film Festival at VISUAL. CCEN is a new organisation that aims to empower citizens of Carlow to take action in tackling Climate Change through various positive actions. These films have been selected for their uplifting, solution-focused themes, dealing with various aspects of our current Climate Emergency and are suitable for all ages. Screenings will be free of charge.
Going “circular” refers to the necessary change from our current take-make-waste linear economy to a borrow-use-return circular economy (sometimes referred to as the zero-waste or cradle-to-cradle economy).
Closing the Loop is an optimistic film about innovative solutions. In support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the documentary explores five key strategies for achieving circularity – reduce, reuse, recycle, renew and reinvent.
Following this screening, the CCEN will lead a conversation about how we can make practical changes at home and at work today, that can help us to become more circular in how we consume and deal with our waste.
